Let's walk you through my day with Lisa and Cora. Tucked away right off the highway in Oakland is what looks like a little oasis, Lisa's studio. Walking in you're greeted with stunning photographs of her clients on the walls, beautiful art and a cozy / inviting space. You meet Cora (one of Lisa's very talented makeup artists) and Lisa offers you water and patiently goes through your outfits / looks with you.
From there, Cora starts her magic and walks you through exactly what she was doing and why. She took so much care to make sure I absolutely loved my makeup. In the end, I looked exactly like me but on my very best day.
After makeup, Lisa begins taking photos and guiding you through the shots. She was so attentive and helped me with things to think about and the whole thing was so fun and interactive! We achieved some absolutely beautiful results!
Something that really stuck out to me was Lisa was ALWAYS checking in with me, making sure I was comfortable and making sure the shots were what I wanted. Cora was on standby and made sure every hair and the makeup was in place. I felt absolutely cared for and it showed in the pictures.
The results were everything I wanted and more, I will absolutely be coming back to Lisa in the future!”

From the very beginning, Lisa made the entire experience feel safe, grounded, and genuinely special. The experience started the day before the shoot, when Lisa called to walk me through the process and check in on logistics. What I appreciated most, though, was that she took a moment to simply connect - sharing about her recent travels and creating space for real conversation. It instantly put me at ease. She also sent an incredibly detailed guide with parking instructions, clothing recommendations, and so many thoughtful details that made me feel completely prepared.
On the day of the shoot, Lisa met me upon arrival with clear directions, led me to secure parking, and even helped carry my clothes in.
I then met her wonderful makeup artist, Arabella, whose energy was just as warm and positive. Together, we went through my wardrobe and selected three looks that perfectly aligned with the style I was going for. Lisa even steamed the clothes to make sure everything was flawless before I sat down for makeup - which felt relaxed, fun, and collaborative.
When it came time to shoot, it was immediately clear that Lisa is a true professional. Her direction was thoughtful and precise - small tweaks and adjustments that made a huge difference in the final shots. I never once felt rushed or uncomfortable. Instead, I felt fully seen and like I was the most important client in the room, which speaks volumes about Lisa’s character and her genuine care for people.
And as an added bonus, spending time with Star - her sweet, intuitive dog - was truly the icing on the cake. He checked in on me throughout the shoot and added an extra layer of comfort and joy to an already incredible experience.

Lisa Keating is highly professional and experienced. It was apparent from the level of care, detail, and expertise that went into the whole experience.
A number of things I absolutely loved:
-Lisa knew exactly what to say to bring out my daughter's authentic emotions, without explicitly telling her to smile or be serious.
- She took the time to explain what to do when the gallery of photos arrived as well the meaning/uses of theatrical and commercial headshots in the entertainment industry.
-Lisa showed my daughter and I photos from her camera throughout the session. This really helped both of us feel fully included in the process...and allowed us to see the beauty that she was seeing as a photographer.
-As a parent who’s new to the industry, I honestly did not expect this photo shoot to be such an emotional experience, and I was a bit embarrassed. But there was a certain level of sensitivity to this...I love how they both, especially Cora, openly affirmed my tears and acknowledged that it was common for parents to cry during the session. Meant so much.
Most importantly, my daughter felt good and uplifted during the photo shoot. I think she caught a glimpse of what the future might hold for her as an actor. Thank you Lisa! Thank you Cora!

“Loved working with Lisa and Cora! Lisa came highly recommended from a number of different acting teachers and friends in the Bay Area. She lives up to the hype! I felt taken care of well before arrival. Lisa called about 5 days before our photoshoot to go through any questions I might have and emailed some prep notes. When I arrived, we chatted about what I was hoping to capture and helped narrow down my outfit looks.
Cora was my makeup artists for the day. She kept my makeup natural and I felt great while still feeling like myself. I also came in with some dark spots on my arm from cupping and Cora covered these up so they were not at all noticeable for the shoot.
Lisa was great in capturing a sequence of emotions, thoughts, and reactions to allow for a variety of shots to come through. I completely trusted Lisa and Cora as a team. They were adjusting pieces of hair and fabric that I definitely would not have caught myself.

“II had an incredible experience with Lisa. She has a wonderful set up: I don't wear much makeup but her makeup artist helped me look so natural and beautiful--I wish she'd been the artist on my wedding day! I brought about six different tops and Lisa and her makeup artist helped me pick out the best colors/cuts. After the makeup session, I had my photo session with Lisa. She took shots with a few different tops in different locations, and cracked jokes to set me at ease. Then she sent me a LOT of photos to choose from (it was so hard to choose!) and sent me both horizontal and vertical versions of the pic. All in all, she's super communicative, very chill, and has a wonderful approach that helps you feel at ease. And her photos are just gorgeous--I loved them all! “I’m not an actor or a celebrity.. just a newbie content creator trying to take my first step into acting, and I knew headshots were the place to start. I found Lisa through a Google search, saw her great reviews, and decided to give it a shot (even though it’s not cheap). Honestly, I couldn’t be happier that I did.
From the moment I booked, Lisa made the process so smooth. A few days before the shoot, she sent me info on what to bring and what to expect, and even gave me a call to walk me through everything since I don’t have an agent and I’m new to this. On the day of the shoot, I showed up early and she was already ready for me.
Cora, who did my makeup, was incredible. It was actually my first time ever having makeup done, and she made the whole experience comfortable, smooth, and even exciting.
During the shoot, Lisa was extremely patient and took her time to make sure we got my best shots. She and Cora were also super supportive, even giving me advice on how to start getting into acting roles. As a content creator, I asked if I could capture a few short clips for my own content.. not the whole thing! and not only did they let me do that but even helped me with the clips!
And of course, I can’t forget Star, their adorable little dog, who made the experience even more welcoming.
